No. EverQuest II is a game separate from EverQuest that shares the same world and similar story-line, but set 500 years in the future. The mechanics and gameplay of EQII take a lot of the good elements from EQL along with quite a few new ideas to bring about a new game that is enhanced to tackle the gaming market today and progress with the advancements of tomorrow.
