The tiny race called the Gnomes (smaller than Dwarves) use technology and engineering as a way of life. The Gnomes fought for the Alliance during the Second War. However, during the recent invasion of the Burning Legion, they could not come to the aid of the Alliance because an ancient, barbaric menace was invading their own city of Gnomeregan. The Gnomes fought bravely, but their city was destroyed and half of their population lost. Those who remained fled to the Dwarven city of Ironforge for safety. Now they aid the Alliance, and are developing new strategies and weapons to retake their lost home city.
